Privacy Policy

Last updated: December 24, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how Saradays (the “App”) handles information when you use it.

By installing or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Process

1.1 Photos and Media

  • The App accesses your photos and videos only after you grant the necessary permissions on your device.
  • Your photos, videos, and any related metadata (such as timestamps, locations, captions) are:
    • Stored locally on your device by default.
    • Used only within the App to power visualizations, timelines, and related features.
  • We do not automatically upload your photos, videos, or related metadata to our servers.
  • If you enable iCloud Backup (optional, iOS only), the App will copy managed photos/videos, thumbnails, and visualization data to your iCloud account so you can restore them later. This data is stored and synced by Apple, under Apple’s terms and privacy policy.
  • Your photos and videos remain private on your device unless you explicitly choose to share or upload them to a third‑party cloud provider or backup service.

1.2 Visualization Metadata

To provide custom visualizations and organization features, the App may store metadata locally, including:

  • Visualization configurations (titles, layout choices, view modes).
  • Groupings, tags, or organizational preferences.
  • User‑provided labels, captions, or notes.
  • Timestamps or locations that you manually assign to photos that are missing such metadata.

This metadata is stored locally using device storage technologies (such as SQLite and the device file system) and is used solely inside the App.

1.3 Device and Usage Data

We do not intentionally collect personally identifiable information about you for analytics.

However, the App may process technical data on your device to function correctly, such as:

  • Device operating system and version.
  • App version.
  • Error logs or crash information (usually kept on the device or handled by the app store).

If the app store or operating system captures crash reports or diagnostics, such data may be handled by Apple, Google, or other platform providers according to their own privacy policies.

1.4 Subscription / Purchase Information

The App may offer premium or subscription‑based features.

  • Payments and subscriptions are typically handled by the relevant app store (e.g., Apple App Store, Google Play Store) and/or third‑party subscription providers.
  • We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
  • We may receive limited transaction‑related data (e.g., a subscription token, product identifier, status) in order to:
    • Verify your subscription status.
    • Unlock premium features.
    • Enforce usage limits in free mode.

Any data handled by third‑party payment or subscription providers is governed by their own privacy policies.

In particular, we use RevenueCat to manage in‑app purchases and subscriptions. Through RevenueCat, we collect information about your purchases, certain device details, and an app‑specific user identifier so we can verify and maintain your premium access. This information is used only for purchase validation and entitlement management and, as implemented by us, is not linked to your real‑world identity (such as your name, email address, or phone number).

2. How We Use Information

We use the data described above strictly to:

  • Provide, personalize, and improve the visualizations of your photos.
  • Maintain and display your visualizations, timelines, and other configurations.
  • Ensure premium feature access and enforce free‑tier limits.
  • Enhance stability, performance, and security of the App.

We do not:

  • Sell your photos or personal information.
  • Use your photos for advertising.
  • Build marketing profiles about you using your photos.

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Local‑First Storage

  • Your photos and visualization data are stored locally on your device by default.
  • Storage and “unlimited” usage in the App are always subject to the available storage space on your device; if your device is low on space, you may not be able to add more photos, videos, or visualizations.
  • If you uninstall the App, locally stored visualization metadata may be removed from your device; your original photos remain in your device’s photo library unless you delete them there.
  • If you enable iCloud Backup, copies of app‑managed data are stored in your iCloud account. Availability and retention are subject to Apple’s services and your iCloud settings.

3.2 Security Measures

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data processed by the App, including:

  • Using platform‑provided secure storage mechanisms where appropriate.
  • Minimizing the amount of data processed and stored.

However, no system can be 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security or the absence of bugs. The App is under ongoing development and may contain errors or experience failures that could affect stored data or visualizations. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your device secure (e.g., device passcode, biometric lock).
  • Controlling access to your device and photo library.
  • Maintaining your own independent backups of photos and other important content (for example, via your system photo library or external backup services). We are not liable for loss, corruption, or unrecoverability of data stored on your device.

3.3 Cloud Features

  • The App currently offers optional iCloud Backup (iOS only), which stores copies of app‑managed data in your iCloud account.
  • In the future, we may introduce additional optional features that allow you to upload or synchronize photos, videos, or related metadata to our servers.
  • If we introduce such features, we will:
    • Clearly explain what data would be uploaded and how it would be used.
    • Update this Privacy Policy and, where required by law, seek your consent.
  • Any cloud‑based features will be optional, and you will be able to choose whether or not to enable them.

4. Third‑Party Services

The App may integrate with third‑party services to power certain features.

4.1 Current Integrations

Examples of services currently or potentially integrated include:

  • App store billing providers (Apple, Google) for subscription management.
  • RevenueCat and other subscription/entitlement platforms to verify premium access.
  • Apple iCloud / CloudKit for optional backups (iOS only).
  • Music or audio streaming services for audio-related features.

When you use features that involve such services:

  • Certain limited information (such as device identifiers, product identifiers, or app usage events) may be shared with these providers only as needed to provide the feature.
  • These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control.

4.2 Future AI Features (Optional)

We may introduce optional AI-powered features in the future, such as automatic caption generation or photo enhancement.

If you choose to use such features:

  • Your photos and/or videos would be sent to third-party AI service providers to perform the requested analysis or generation.
  • This would include the actual image data, not just metadata.
  • These features will be entirely optional—you can choose whether or not to enable them.
  • AI providers would process your photos under their own terms and privacy policies.
  • We will clearly notify you before any photos are sent to AI services and obtain your explicit consent.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third‑party services you link or use within the App.

5. Your Choices and Controls

5.1 Permissions

  • You can grant or revoke photo library permissions at any time through your device settings.
  • If you revoke permissions, the App may no longer be able to access new photos from your library, and some or all of the App's features may no longer function.
  • Important: Revoking permissions does not automatically remove access to photos or videos you previously allowed the App to access. Any media and associated metadata already stored locally within the App may remain accessible until you delete them from within the App or uninstall the App.

5.2 Managing Your Data

  • You can delete visualizations, metadata, and photos from within the App interface (subject to the App’s features).
  • Deleting a visualization typically removes the associated local metadata for that view; it does not delete the original photo from your system photo library unless explicitly stated.
  • You may also delete the App from your device at any time, which typically removes local App data from your device (excluding photos stored in your device’s photo library).

5.3 Opting Out of Certain Features

  • If you do not wish for any data to be shared with third‑party services, do not enable or connect those features (for example, music integrations or AI caption features).
  • Avoid using premium subscription features if you do not wish to interact with app store or subscription providers.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in:

  • App features or functionality.
  • Applicable laws or regulations.
  • Third‑party service integrations.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
